Honeywell boosts reliability and asset management solutions

August 2011 System Integration & Control Systems Design

Honeywell has announced the expansion of its Reliability and Asset Management solutions portfolio with the launch of the new Asset Manager R400, helping customers in traditional vertical sectors integrate all aspects of plant maintenance and operations – people, processes and technologies – through a single comprehensive solution.

Advances in process automation and other technologies have created significant improvements and efficiencies in recent years, but at the same time they have created more complexities and challenges for end users. In response to this, Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) has expanded its Reliability and Asset Management portfolio and now offers a comprehensive industry leading portfolio to deliver improvements in uptime, performance and efficiency while preserving process safety. Asset Manager forms the cornerstone of this offering.

Asset Manager R400 is designed to enable seamless integration with both Honeywell and leading third-party applications, such as IBM Maximo, in order to enable easier decision making, maintain asset integrity and support operations reliability. It also enables users from all levels of plant operations to collaborate effectively in order to determine how to address abnormal equipment condition and plan maintenance while assuring production dependability.

“In today’s industrial process industry, where plant management is regularly faced with shrinking maintenance and operations budgets, producers want assets to be more reliable and efficient without compromising safety or increasing risk,” says Ron Stallworth, global marketing leader, HPS. “Thanks to the close relationships we have developed with our customers through our consultative selling model, we are better able to understand their needs, allowing us to offer them the best portfolio of solutions possible to overcome any challenges they currently face.”

HPS’ leading offerings for process technology, connectivity and automation, provides customers with a complete end-to-end reliability and asset management solution from a single vendor. In addition, Honeywell’s OneWireless network technology, Experion process knowledge system (PKS) and manufacturing execution system (MES) solutions allow interoperability between Honeywell and third party products, significantly reducing customer risk.

Asset Manager R400 adds to Honeywell’s current set of Reliability and Asset Management offerings, which include comprehensive consulting services to ensure the right solution is selected and properly implemented. The portfolio includes industry specific applications like Well Performance Monitor for intelligent oil well surveillance and Mobile Equipment Monitor for heavy equipment health and performance monitoring; process specific applications such as OM Pro for best in class practices for control room and field operators and Corrosion Modeling for active corrosion protection; smart field instruments applications such as Field Device Manager, available either as a standalone application or fully integrated with Honeywell’s Experion PKS to manage field devices; Field Advisor for field operator driven reliability and Downtime Reporter for better analysis of asset downtime and applications such as IBM Maximo for enterprise-wide asset management.
