RoninGMS to introduce new measurement systems

August 2011 News

Johannesburg-based Ronin Grain Management Solutions was founded to develop and supply risk control solutions to the South African and international grain producing, handling and processing industries. Later it diversified into other bulk commodity markets such as sugar, coal and shipping. All of RoninGMS’ solutions and services are focused specifically at mitigating risk, reducing cost or enhancing productivity to secure and increase profitability for its customers.

Through its years of service to the grain industry, RoninGMS has developed various software and hardware solutions many of which incorporate the Jenoptik LDM42 laser range finding unit. This year the company is introducing this unit along with three other offerings from the Jena-based optical equipment manufacturer, Jenoptik, to the South African market. To date the LDM42 has been integrated into Ronin’s ART, AIMS and Artemis solutions with great success. In the case of each of these solutions the toughness and versatility of this laser range finding unit and its ability to measure accurately through dust and without the need of a reflector made it an indispensible component in the design of the Ronin scanning architecture.
