Certified Functional Safety Expert (CSFE) exam

* Do you think you are knowledgeable on safety instrumented systems?

* Do your work colleagues and company recognise you as their functional safety expert?

* Are you familiar with IEC 61508 safety integrity levels and the requirements of IEC 61511 (Draft)?

The SAIMC in cooperation with TÜV, are planning a Certified Functional Safety Expert (CSFE) exam to be held in Johannesburg later this year or early next year. TÜV require a minimum of 25 delegates in order to make this exam economically viable (currently their fee is US$495 per delegate). Prior to the exam, it is proposed that a two or three-day safety expert workshop be held (fee to be determined), which will also be open to persons not wishing to sit the exam.
