Smaller cable diameter from Lapp

June 2011 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors

The Lapp Group is constantly reducing outer diameter sizes on its cables to benefit users and recently launched new part numbers for its Ölflex Classic 100 cable. This range will be changed completely to reduced installation wall thicknesses. Up until now all the cables with a maximum of five conductors have had a harmonised wall thickness and at six conductors they have a reduced wall thickness. The nominal voltage remains the same, only the outer diameter and the cable weight changes. For the cables which will change new part numbers have been introduced.

The advantage of the smaller outer is that less space is required for improved installation possibilities. Other features remain unchanged such as high electrical performance due to 4 kV test voltage and increased flexibility due to short-twisted-conductor layers.

Applications include: plant engineering, construction industrial machinery, air conditioning installations, power stations, dry and damp interiors under medium mechanical load conditions and occasional flexing without tensile load.
