Schneider Electric South Africa recently introduced its new generation of miniature circuit breakers, Acti 9, targeting the tertiary and industrial building markets and replacing the Multi 9 range.
The launch took place at the Melrose Arch, where host and keynote speaker, Sibusiso Skosana, product manager for final low voltage devices at Schneider Electric SA, unveiled the product and explained how the devices incorporated both the VisiTrip and the VisiSafe concepts together with class-2 insulation.
“The Acti 9 range is designed for the life of an installation,” says Skosana. “The protection devices incorporate a fast-closing mechanism that improves the service life considerably by reducing contact ‘wear’ during switching phases.”
He added that for better environmental preservation, the Acti 9 range uses components that are recyclable at the end of product life and, in addition, the breakers dissipate 20 percent less energy than the present range due to optimised contact technology.
