Featuring precise Pt100 and Pt1000 elements as well as diverse means of configuration, the new product range of screw-in and plug-in thermometers from SICK offers top-quality solutions for contacting temperature measurement in fluids and gases.
The resistance thermometers consist of a measuring sensor, different mechanical adaptations for fastening, as well as a connection head – either with a measuring transducer or direct connection to the platinum element. In the measuring sensor, the TBT and TCT temperature sensors work either with Pt100 elements featuring precision class A according to IEC 60751; the TSP features optionally either Pt100 or Pt1000 elements, both with precision class B. As a result, the sensors stand out due to their long-term stability as well as high accuracy and linearity. Because of the great variety of installation lengths (between 25 and 350 mm) as well as the variable means of mechanical configuration, the devices can be adjusted to meet individual requirements – even in pressurised containers.
Ideal temperature controlling for diverse operating conditions
Sick’s temperature sensor technology offers varied means of adjusting to the measuring task and its environment. This applies to all of the devices in the product range: the TBT with field housing made of die-cast aluminum, the TCT with compact cylindrical stainless steel housing that can also be used in a protective sleeve, as well as the extremely space saving TSP screw-in thermometer for confined installation settings. The TBT and TCT resistance thermometers are available for temperature ranges from –50 to +150°C or –50 to +250°C.
Each offer either a connection to a precise measuring transducer with a 4–20 mA output signal or a four-wire direct connection to the Pt100 element that is integrated into a corrosion-resistant measuring sensor made of 1.4571 stainless steel. Optionally, both sensors can be fastened to the container by thread or clamp connections. For the TCT, there are also variants available with a protective sleeve, which allow exchanging the sensor with the container remaining closed.
The compact TSP screw-in thermometer with connection thread, electric M12x1 connection, and a temperature range of up to +130°C is available with measuring sensors made of 1.4305 stainless steel in installation lengths up to 60 mm. As an output signal, the sensor provides a two-wire direct connection to the platinum element.
Whether the task involves monitoring operating conditions, eg, of cooling water or hydraulic oil or checking and controlling sensitive processes – the resistance thermometers from SICK guarantee reliable and accurate temperature detection in numerous industrial applications in the areas of plant and machine engineering. Thus the sensors, as extensions of SICK’s fluid sensors portfolio, contribute their share to being able to offer customers complete solutions for their measuring tasks from a single source.
