Opto 22’s OptoEMU Sensor is a Web-enabled energy monitoring and data acquisition hardware appliance that lets commercial and industrial customers acquire power consumption data from facility systems, machines, equipment and metering devices in real-time and with minimal configuration.
Designed for maintenance engineers, plant managers, business owners, energy consultants, and others looking for ways to better understand and reduce energy consumption, the OptoEMU Sensor offers far more than a simple snapshot of a facility’s total power usage presented on a local PC or operator interface terminal. Instead, the sensor is able to identify the individual power draw of specific loads and then communicate this data over standard IP-based networks where it can be accessed and viewed in both tabular and graphical formats.
The sensor serves as a simple, out-of-the-box appliance that reduces the steps needed to acquire and view energy use. It is designed to deliver energy data to standard SQL databases or third party applications like Google PowerMeter, Pulse Energy’s Pulse or Opto 22’s free PAC project software, from where it can be analysed and used to develop energy management strategies.
