Miniature M5 and M6 sensors added to Omron’s photoelectric range.
Compact integrated-amplifier photoelectric sensors with M5 and M6 cylindrical housings are the latest additions to the Omron sensor range. Their introduction allows the company to offer one of the most comprehensive, convenient and versatile families of cylindrical photoelectric sensors on the market.
Simple mounting makes cylindrical housing very popular and the new E3T-C sensors complement the company’s existing easy mount integrated amplifier products with M18, M12 and M8 housings and its miniature remote-amplifier cylindrical photoelectric sensors with sensing head sizes up to M6.
Ideal for use in applications where reliability and high performance are essential and mounting space is limited, the new E3T-C sensors are offered in various versions. The E3T-CT units are through-beam sensors with M5 bodies and are available in axial and radial types, while the E3T-CD units with M6 bodies are diffuse reflective sensors for axial operation. All types can be supplied with either NPN or PNP outputs.
The E3T-CT sensors use red visible light and are configured for dark-on operation; the range of the axial versions is 1 m, while that of the radial versions is 0,5 m. The E3T-CD sensors use infrared light and are configured for light-on operation; they have a user-adjustable sensing range of 3 to 50 mm, measured using a standard test target.
As an aid to fast and convenient installation and adjustment, the sensors incorporate a stability LED that gives a clear indication of when the sensor is operating within its stable sensing range. They also incorporate a separate operating LED that provides instant visual confirmation of the output status.
Photoelectric sensors in Omron’s new E3T-C range are designed for use with DC supplies in the range 12 to 24 V. They have open-collector outputs rated at 80 mA, and the outputs are fully protected against reverse polarity and short circuits. The sensors have an IP65 ingress protection rating and an operating temperature range of -25 to +55°C.
