Temperature Measurement

Temperature sensors with IO-link

January 2011 Temperature Measurement

The latest versions of ifm electronics’ popular TR and TN series temperature sensors are equipped with IO-link for parameter setting and diagnosis. The compact TN type units with integrated temperature probes display excellent response times, high-pressure resistance and adaptive process connections. Programmable analogue, switching and IO-link signals are generated reliably over the temperature range from -40 to 150°C. The TR series accepts separate Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors over the even wider temperature range of -40 to 300°C.

Both series have a clearly legible 4-digit alphanumeric display. Two pushbuttons allow direct local parameter setting, and a wide range of accessories, adapters and connectors ensures easy and safe integration into the process.

Set-up via a PC is a feature that allows the sensors to be configured remotely before being fitted on site. All that is needed, apart from a PC with a USB 2.0 port, is an interface cable from ifm electronic along with ifm’s freely downloadable FDT software. This combination supplies power to the sensor while it is being programmed for process integration.
