New heat and chemical resistant models have now been added to the comprehensive E32 range of fibre-optic sensors available from Omron. The new sensors are suited to the needs of machine builders and are specifically designed to offer long life and high performance in demanding environments. Typical applications for the new sensors include hygienic filling areas in pharmaceutical plants, food and beverage preparation equipment and filling machines and chemical treatment areas in semi-conductor manufacturing plants.
E32_51R heat resistant fibre-optic sensors in the new range combine the ability to withstand temperatures of up to 100°C with a fibre bending radius of just 2 mm. This means that they can be used in hot environments and can be easily installed in applications where space is restricted. The new sensors complement the E32 range, which include types suitable for use at up to 400°C.
For applications where the sensors could be exposed to chemicals or detergents, Omron offers products in the E32_11F series. These are resistant to the effects of most solvents and cleaning agents. With the addition of these new fibre-optic sensors to its range, Omron now offers a full range of optical sensing solutions to match user requirements at all levels from the cost-sensitive to the most demanding.
