The Lapp Group demonstrated its new 3D-CAD service for the first time on the company stand at the recent Hannover fair. The system, which generated a lot of interest, makes designing easier and simplifies the selection of components by providing benefits that include:
* A 3D-view of the product visualising the chosen models.
* Search functions to facilitate the location of components. The 3D models can be exported easily in different AD formats.
* Visitors to the portal can see product information without having to register. Registration is only necessary to download the data and is free of charge.
The new CAD service contains more than 1000 products, including Skintop cable glands, Silvyn cable protection and conduit systems and Epic industrial connectors, to assist Lapp customers generate technical documentation. The company says the free of charge service helps to illustrate solutions which are in need of explanation and provides a guide to the most appropriate products in the Lapp 3D-CAD catalogue. http://lapp.partcommunity.com
