MEAN WELL has further expanded its AC/DC green adapter line by introducing the GS160 series. The new 160 W adapter complies with worldwide regulations for external power supplies, including ErP second step (Energy-related Products, 2009/125/EC), ENERGY STAR, EISA 2007 (Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007) of USA and MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards) of Australia. Possessing very low no load power consumption and up to 94% efficiency, the series is real energy efficient in both standby mode and active modes to fulfil international requirements for green power products.
Using the standard IEC320-C14 inlet as the input connector, GS160 series are 90-264 VAC input single output desktop switch mode power supplies with power factor correction function. An earthed ground pin and UL 94V-0 rated plastic case ensures these class AI units effectively protect users from electrical shock. Output voltages range from 12-48 VDC to meet the input requirements of a variety of electronic equipment. In addition, the up-to-date LLC topology ensures that GS160 can be cooled by free air convection from -30 to 50°C under full load conditions.
These green adapters combine energy saving concepts, high reliability and high efficiency. Furthermore, GS160 meets global safety/EMC requirements per TUV, UL, CUL, BSMI, CCC, CB, FCC, and CE, which guarantee safety and reliability for many different applications such as consumer electronics, POS system, LCD display, and office/commercial equipment.
