Versatile industrial PC technology from Beckhoff is suitable for a wide range of applications, including factory automation and production related IT applications. Beckhoff industrial PCs and control panels are used in a wide range of industrial IT applications, including production data acquisition (PDA), manufacturing execution systems (MES), or as operating and display units for ERP systems. The Beckhoff range includes the CP-Link 3 desktop transfer software, RFID products and new stainless steel control panels.
Beckhoff followed the trend towards small, compact industrial PCs. Compact PCIe modules based on the PCI Express standard enable expansion of these IPC series with additional interfaces while retaining the benefits of the compact design. In contrast to PCI or PCIe plug in cards, the Beckhoff PCIe module is firmly screwed to the inside of the PC via the plug connector panel and therefore optimised for industrial applications. Beckhoff industrial PCs in stainless steel design and the CP79xx control panel can be used in sensitive areas such as food, packaging and medical applications.
CP-Link 3 – Ethernet-based desktop transfer software
CP-Link 3 is a control and visualisation concept for flexible connection of up to 255 panel PCs. CP-Link-3 is a pure software solution based entirely on standard hardware (Ethernet) and IP-based protocol for transfer of image data. The screen contents are captured by a virtual graphic adapter in the host PC and sent using Ethernet to one or more panel PCs with Windows operating systems (CE, XP or Embedded Standard).
PC-based control: energy monitoring for intelligent buildings
In addition to PC and Ethernet-based control technology for building services and different building types ranging from industrial buildings to hotels, Beckhoff also has solutions for energy data acquisition. The data is transferred to a control centre via open interfaces and analysed by the building management system. The Beckhoff system enables the relevant parameters to be measured and appropriate responses to be initiated. The seamless integration of energy and consumption data monitoring for all building services in the PC control system results in savings potential and synergy effects both in the system design and during building operation.
