Moeller gains preferred partner status

March 2010 News

Cape-based Hidro-Tech Systems has appointed Moeller a preferred partner for electrical equipment, the result of successful Moeller switchboard performance at the company’s projects throughout the Western Cape.

Hidro-Tech, a medium-sized enterprise offering turnkey liquid transfer solutions from design through to equipment procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, is becoming increasingly prominent in the Cape’s hotly contested field of water and wastewater projects. The company focuses on water supply projects, wastewater pumping stations, and water and wastewater treatment plants, for which it typically prices against a specification drawn up by consulting engineers. Successful tenders are followed by equipment procurement, installation, testing and commissioning. Life-cycle maintenance services are also offered.

Within this framework, Moeller delivers a comprehensive switchboard service, including tendering, design, system integration and manufacture, and a full factory acceptance test in the presence of the consulting engineer concerned. Requested modifications to the design are noted and executed. To ensure the reliability and functionality of the design through to final project handover, on-site commissioning is handled by the Moeller project manager, and includes the setting up of all test instrumentation as well as conducting the tests themselves.

Hidro-Tech and Moeller are presently tendering on further water supply and sewage pump stations as well as water and wastewater treatment projects in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape provinces.
