Banner’s SureCross DX70 wireless system has been designed to deliver a low-cost dedicated wireless I/O system, providing: directly mapped I/O using a gateway and node each equipped with four discrete inputs and outputs: two analog inputs and outputs and a link loss output. The system offers two-way communication with full acknowledgement in a licence-free band. Ease of installation makes it a cost-effective, simple to implement solution for remote I/O applications or plant environments where conduit and wiring are impractical.
A node on a DX70 network can be easily deployed and is used to gather information that is concentrated at a DX70 gateway system controller, which can be located up to three kilometres away. DX70 uses a Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) protocol and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology to ensure reliable, secure data communication. In addition, DX70 offers an enhanced security feature called binding to minimise any possible noise or interference caused by other wireless products.
Applications include anywhere no cables exist, or where the cost of laying cables is high – moving equipment and vehicles are also included. Tank farms, green houses, remote pumps, mine vehicles and overhead cranes are all places where the DX70 SureCross system has been successfully implemented.
