Industrial Automation & Control (IAC), the company which pioneered the introduction of Hirschmann’s Industrial Ethernet technology products into the South African market 10 years ago, has further strengthened its relationship with Hirschmann AC now part of the Belden group of companies.
In October 2009, IAC demonstrated a lasting commitment to the brand by becoming a Hirschmann training partner, ensuring that its customer base now has local access to state-of-the-art training facilities with an option of getting internationally recognised HiSE/HiNE certification.
“The training syllabus offered by IAC is comprehensive: including theoretical, as well as practical hands on training in areas such as fieldbus and realtime technologies, TCP/IP in industrial environments, industrial network management, network security, wireless LANs, structured cabling and network design and the stringent demands of mission-critical industrial networks. Our trainers are experienced Hirschmann certified network engineers, who complement the training with practical problems based on real life case studies from the South African industry,” says Vladimir Milovanovic, general manager, IAC.
Technical manager, Raine Sadie, adds: “Industrial Ethernet places emphasis on expertise in technical aspects which were previously thought of as unrelated, therefore training is crucial to focus the attention of the learners attending the course in the right direction. We recognise that in this economic climate many of our customers are unable to spare technical staff and have them away from their workplace. To alleviate this we also offer on-site training where we will ship and supply all the hardware necessary for the courses to the venue most convenient for the customer.”
