Innovative new circular connectors

High quality pharmaceutical-grade water needs to meet stringent quality requirements. Industry regulations mandate the monitoring of total organic carbon (TOC) levels for purified water (PW), water for injection (WFI) and highly purified water (HPW). In addition the instruments used for water quality monitoring need to undergo periodic testing to verify their ability to completely oxidise and accurately measure TOC.

Thornton’s 5000TOC sensor provides the performance needed to meet USP <643>, <645> and EP 2.2.44 requirements for the pharmaceutical industry, offering added benefits such as continuous on-line measurement in a low maintenance package, making it ideal for use in industrial environments. The 5000TOC sensor can operate at elevated temperatures to 100°C, where steam and periodic hot water sanitising is required. The sensor platform allows easy and economical integration into water purification make-up and distribution systems.

The device uses Smart sensor technology to interface with the 770MAX multiparameter analyser/transmitter to provide a versatile and flexible TOC measurement platform. The sensor uses proven ultraviolet oxidation with differential conductivity to effectively determine TOC concentrations. The Smart sensor design minimises installation and set-up time, and a continuous flow design provides rapid TOC response.

The 770MAX multiparameter analyser/transmitter will allow up to two 5000TOC sensors to be connected to any of the four Smart input channels, leaving the two remaining channels for use with other 770MAX smart sensors. The sensor connects directly to the 770MAX instrument using standard patch cables.
