Bernstein has developed the Ultra-Lock system for greater reliability where space and line-of-sight are minimal, for instance on multiple connector blocks. The Ultra-Lock connector is simply pushed onto the connecting cable until it clicks into position. The contact is now reliably made and the connection securely locked, ready for operation. To release again simply pull back the connector sleeve, much like a garden hose to tap connection.
Bernstein M12, M18 and M30 sensors are now also available with the efficient Ultra-Lock cable couplings. With their high degree of protection, these sensors with their quick-connect system are particularly suitable for use in rough environments and demanding industrial applications. The connection remains secure even when subjected to shaking and vibration. The system is certified for an IP67/68/69K protection.
Inductive sensors with the Ultra-Lock plug-in connectors are fully retro-compatible, as the contact pattern and number of poles are identical to those of all standard M12x1 circular connectors. This means the sensors can be used in both existing as well as in new applications.
