Low-cost rail thermostat

August 2009 Temperature Measurement

Suitable for applications monitoring room, immersion sleeve and surface temperatures, these DIN rail devices are quick to install compared to conventional, fitted thermostats. Installation consists of inserting the connecting wires into the connecting points as far as they will go. No tool is needed to connect the wire or the strand with the ferrule – and the connection is reliable.

The 'Push-in' technology allows for loads of up to 16 A to be directly connected at 230 V a.c. Since a contactor is not required, the cost of installation is further reduced. Maintenance costs are lower, thanks to the small interval of <10 K between shutting off the safety temperature limiter, and turning it back on.
