Exhibition organiser, Specialised Exhibitions, has announced that the top level international pump user conference, IPUC 2009, will be co-located with Afriwater 2009 at the MTN Expo Centre, NASREC, in September, together with the high profile WISA conference.
IPUC 2009 is the leading pump conference in South Africa and is relevant to all industries where pumps are the vital heart of their operation including mining, petrochemical, industrial, bulk water and waste water industries.
Says John Kaplan, MD at Specialised Exhibitions: “The two-day conference and two additional workshops will bring delegates up-to-date with the latest developments in the pump industry worldwide, with leading experts, both local and international, sharing their knowledge and experience.”
Pumping systems are a major expense in water and waste management and water process control, and key industry topics will be included in the conference such as pumping systems and life cycle costing, current tried and tested solutions, as well as problem solving using the latest technology.
“Well known and highly respected international speakers will be at IPUC 2009,” says conference director, Harry Rosen, “including Dr. Gunnar Hovstadius, speaking on pumping systems, energy related issues and life cycle costing; Steve Schofield, technical director at the British Pump Manufacturers Association speaking about the European Commission programmes and energy related issues in Europe, USA and South Africa; and Ken Hall, president of Europump and at the forefront of the European pump sector’s policy on Eco-Design and the industry’s energy and environmental programme.”
Zia Tomes, exhibition manager Afriwater 2009, 2011 and WISA 2010 sees great synergy between the events and the addition of IPUC 2009 will mean reaching an even broader spectrum of the water sector.
“Renew, Regenerate, Refurbish is the theme for this year’s Afriwater exhibition and for the high profile co-located WISA conference,” says Tomes. “Afriwater provides a platform for the exposure and sharing of revolutionary technological advancements, state-of-the-art products and innovative ideas across the broad spectrum of the water sector and, together with WISA, the representative body for the water industry, and through the IPUC conference, we will be actively engaging all those involved in water services delivery, water services management and the wider water sector.”
Kerneels Esterhuyse, technical director at WISA added that, “the Water Institute of South Africa focuses on issues pertaining to processes of water and waste water as well as the distribution of water and collection of water waste effluent, and we see the Afriwater and WISA conference platform as an opportunity to bring professionals in the water industry together to discuss latest developments and solutions within this arena. Adding IPUC 2009 to this platform increases our reach to all those involved in this critical sector, and we see it as a very positive addition.”
Afriwater 2009, IPUC 2009 and the WISA Conference take place at the MTN Expo Centre, NASREC, from 8-10 September.
“Exhibitors have a unique opportunity to showcase their developments and services to a specifically targeted market,” explains Tomes, “and we are anticipating high numbers of decision makers and senior management as visitors to the show. Together, we can find solutions.”
