Kübler has added a number of new features to enhance the performance of the range of CODIX displays from the 52X series.
The multifunctional units can be programmed to display function, count, frequency and time
These popular displays, which come in the standard 24 x 48 mm format, have long been renowned for the benefits they offer to users through simple operation and clear menu driven programming. Other popular features include:
* High quality connectors that save on installation time.
* A compact design ideal for use where space is at a premium.
* The unusually bright LED display is easily visible from long distances.
* Large keys incorporated into the design ensure the devices are easy to operate, even by personnel wearing gloves.
Improved performance
In order to keep the product range at the forefront the new design offers even more advantages:
* Speed – the count speed is now 2,5 times faster and power-up delays have been reduced to 16 ms.
* Functionality – many more programming choices are on offer. Division factors are now possible in the timers, as well as a SET function. A faster measuring method for the tachometer, as well as extended counting functions such as up (total information of both inputs) and Quad4 (phase discriminator with pulse quadrupling), open up new applications for users through increased flexibility. Versions that accept 5 V signal levels are also available as standard.
Ease of operation
The devices are ideally suited for use as totalisers, timers, elapsed time meters, frequency meters and tachometers. A single universal multipurpose unit can display both total count and frequency, or it can instead act as a dual totaliser, or display total and time or it can alternatively be programmed to function as a dual timer. One model incorporates the functionality of four different devices, offering flexibility to the user and saving on stock holding.
Top of the range is the CODIX 52P, which incorporates a position indicator and tachometer in one unit. This combination with separate inputs is ideally suited to applications where both rotational speed and position must be monitored simultaneously – for example in drilling applications.
The devices in the new CODIX series are fully compatible with previous models but offer greater performance at the same price. They meet the ever increasing demands of the automation industry, whilst at the same time addressing a wide variety of other applications.
