Trinity Telecomms, an established name in the wireless components and related services market in South Africa, has announced the launch of an independent wireless division, Trinity Wireless Solutions, which will offer turnkey wireless solutions and services to the corporate market.
The existing component and product centric distribution business will continue under the management of Chris Viveiros, while the new solutions and services division will be headed by Derick Roberts.
“After assessing the local market over the past six months, it has become patently obvious that South Africa is in need of wireless technology solutions, most notably in the energy and security sectors. Trinity Wireless Solutions will have the in-house expertise in wireless technology, as well as a large network of customers and partners who have developed a wide range of wireless products. This will enable us to pull together various resources to deliver powerful turnkey solutions for the local market,” says Trinity Telecomms MD, William Hardie.
Core to the Trinity Wireless Solutions offering will be the ability to remotely manage and control industrialised applications and devices.
“We can enable most devices with wireless GSM/GPRS capabilities to enable bi-directional communications, enabling remote monitoring and control of devices and machines anywhere in the field,” says Hardie.
According to Hardie, Trinity has gone one step further by setting up its own APN, including the provisioning of SIM cards, enabling it to offer the setting up of an APN and virtual network for the client, including the device management software and hosting of the system.
“We see this as a valuable service to our many clients already being serviced through our existing products and components division. The access to backend functionality from Trinity Wireless Solutions will enable them to offer their own customers the remote control of the devices, adding significant value to our customers’ products,” says Hardie.
“Our new Trinity Wireless Solutions business unit will offer a compelling wireless solution and service for those customers who are looking to gain efficiencies and control over their core business environment but who do not have the knowledge or experience of utilising wireless technology as a business enabler. For these profile customers, we can quickly and inexpensively implement a powerful value proposition for the very pressing concerns that face the South African market in 2008 and beyond,” he concludes.
