New system for enclosure climate control

April 2008 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors

Enclosure and system climate control specialist, Rittal, presents its new modular concept for climate control doors. This concept makes it easy to combine different dimensions, cooling outputs and voltage levels depending on the demands of the particular application – and to do so with just two item numbers.

The company has developed a modular system for climate control doors supplied straight from the warehouse. There are 48 possible combinations for profile doors: eight different sets of dimensions and six different climate control modules with different output levels and operating voltages. Besides the small number of variants, another advantage is the prefabricated doors in which the climate control modules can be fitted without any sawing or drilling. The entire system can be sourced direct from Rittal, with no interface-related issues and with maximum reliability, all adapted to the customer’s individual requirements.

These climate control modules offer the same benefits as Rittal TopTherm Plus. That means a RiNano coating to prevent the rapid build-up of dirt on the heat exchanger fins and an integrated condensate evaporation system. These climate control modules thus offer altogether much greater energy efficiency and lower maintenance. There is no need to install condensate ducts and no risk of slipping caused by the formation of condensate puddles.

The profile doors for holding the climate control modules are available for enclosures 600, 800 or 1200 mm wide and 1800 or 2000 mm high. They are simply fitted in place of standard doors. The climate control modules are available with cooling outputs of 1500 watts and 2500 watts and operating voltages of 115 V, 230 V and 400/460 V.
