The MA RDU 216 from NewElec, is a remote panel-mounted keypad entry display unit, which can be used as a handheld programming and display device for the NewElec MA range of motor protection relays. The unit permits the user to set all protection parameters and monitor the values while the motor is in operation. It also allows the user to view fault alarms fault logs.
The unit has been designed for mains or battery operation to allow relay set-up when no external power source is available
A security device connected in line with the serial communication cable is required in order to alter any settings, eliminating unauthorised changes. If the device is not available, read only functions are left enabled by the device.
All functions are accessible via a membrane keypad, while the 2 x 16 backlit LCD display is used to indicate the menu requested values. It is also used as an operator prompt in the event of a multiple keystroke sequence.
The MA RDU 216 accommodates up to eight memory slots that are useful for storing information, even when the auxiliary power supply is removed, to allow set-up parameters to be sent to the appropriate protection relay.
The unit is supplied complete with all communications cables, user selectable mains or battery power source and a battery charger.
