Renowned for quality bearings and services SKF South Africa recently added a new line of products to its portfolio – SKF Power Transmission.
“Customer demands are changing globally and there is an increased need to fulfil their expectations. Customers are demanding better solutions and service as well as access to a wider range of products from a single supply source in order to reduce transaction costs and increase efficiency,” states SKF’s general manager, Gavin Garland. “For this reason the organisation spent a number of years analysing the range of products available from different manufacturers in order to acquire a high quality market offering, available globally under one respected brand name,” Garland continues.
The SKF product range consists of an assortment of the most common types of power transmission products in the following categories: belts, chains, couplings, hubs, pulleys and sprockets. Each of these categories includes an assortment of products that allow customers a choice of options depending on the application and budget.
“All SKF power transmission products are manufactured to the highest quality standards with the ultimate goal being customer satisfaction. In addition, traceability is ensured through a marking and labelling system and a quality focused organisation behind each process,” Garland explains. “A bonus is that all SKF power transmission products are fully interchangeable with other common brands available in the market place,” he concludes.
The addition of the power transmission products has enabled SKF to offer complete solutions under one brand name.
