Citect celebrates Ampla
February 2008
News
Ampla is Citect's leading scalable manufacturing execution solution (MES) that allows key personnel to identify and act on opportunities, maximise overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and to correct problems before they impact on supply chain, regulation compliance and production.
To celebrate the continuous success of Ampla as an MES choice Citect recently held a breakfast presentation at Sandton's Grayston hotel on 22 November 2007.
The breakfast session was well attended by business partners, customers and the media
The focus of the presentation was the use of Ampla as a platform for the design of modular systems and solutions. During his presentation, business director Dennis Cox explained that "Ampla is an integrated suite of modules that all run on a single realtime platform, are configured through a single configuration utility and whose clients are all hosted within a single Web portal."
Each module has a targeted purpose with key focus areas such as production, quality and downtime. Data can be stored in industry standard databases such as MS SQL or Oracle, allowing seamless integration with existing business infrastructure and reporting systems.
"Since the platform is re-used by each module, associated costs are reduced across all modules, thereby decreasing capital expenditure and increasing return on investment," concluded Cox.
