Process indicators with dual serial interface

January 2008 Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

Kübler has introduced new process indicators and controllers with RS232 and RS485 interfaces. The units can be programmed via these interfaces and data can be recalled for further processing.

Codix Series models 550 to 555 are supplied in an IP65 protected housing, with a bright 5 digit 14 mm LED display. Set-up and operation is implemented from either the front panel keys or via the serial interfaces, an alphanumeric text programme enables easy configuration from the keypad. The family encompasses indicators and controllers for various analogue input signals (4-20 mA, 0-10 V d.c. or ±10 V d.c.). Versions for thermocouples and resistance measurement (2-, 3- or 4-wire technology) are also available. Conversion is achieved using a 14 bit (analogue to digital) A/D converter and instantaneous as well as averaged values can be displayed.

Models are available to operate from either 10-30 V d.c. or 90-260 V a.c. power supplies. The models operating off AC input offer two auxiliary supplies for powering external sensors. Installation is via plug and screw terminals.
