Surge arresters for IT systems
December 2007
Electrical Power & Protection
The Blitzductor CT lightning current surge arresters from DEHN are pluggable two-pole devices in a modular terminal block, designed for DIN rail mounting. The devices find application in protection for control circuits, instrumentation, alarms, telecommunications and bus systems.
DIN rail surge arresters
The arresters can be used to protect against lightning-induced currents or other harmful interference. Easily installed and maintained the devices provide optimal safety due to their low protection levels. The units are designed to withstand direct lightning surge currents of up to 5 kA with voltage clamping.
The protective circuit resides in the arrester module only, not the base, allowing disconnection and removal for testing purposes. Versatility is enhanced by accessories such as gas discharge tubes and electro-magnetic compliant spring terminals.
