The low cost Raytek MID sensor is ideal for equipment monitoring applications where large sensors are impractical or where multiple sensors are required to ensure uniform temperature measurement along a production line. The MID consists of a miniature infrared sensor and an electronic unit with a five digit LCD display and communication interface. The sensor is housed in a rugged stainless steel enclosure to ensure durability in harsh environments. Accuracy of 1% is provided across a temperature range of -40 to 1200°C with a response time of 150 ms. Processing features include emissivity, peak hold, valley hold and averaging easily adjustable from the user interface. An alarm signal is initiated when the temperature set-point or sensor head ambient temperature is exceeded. Windows-based software allows programming of remote sensors and the display of temperature information. The software also allows formatting and printing of data for inclusion in reports.
