New line of transmitters

February 2001 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

The new Mettler-Toledo transmitter line covers the parameters pH/ORP, conductivity/resistivity and dissolved oxygen. Each transmitter is equipped with a customised ASIC microprocessor (application specific integrated circuit) and offers powerful features through a menu-driven set-up program. Eight submenus help to configure the transmitters for specific applications.

The transmitters are designed for easy wiring and handling. Process control can be done with the two setpoint relays or with the integrated proportional controller which can be configured as pulse length or pulse frequency controller. An additional alarm relay is provided and a wash contact enables the transmitter to be used in combination with cleaning systems.

The relays can be operated manually for easy function check of connected valves or pumps. The special Hold function allows a typical master slave operation whereby control action of one transmitter is controlled by a second one. A nonvolatile EEPROM retains all configured settings and calibration data even in case of power failure. The new transmitters can be used in a variety of applications.
