EGE-Elektronik has expanded its range of in-line flow controllers with the introduction of its electromagnetic SDI series. This new series is available locally from Countapulse Controls. These magnetic flow monitors, fitted directly into pipes via tube fittings or adapters, measure the flow rate of all conductive fluids, such as water-glycol mixtures.
The measuring accuracy of these sensors is very high; this flow controller has a maximum error percentage of only 2%, with a detection range between 0 to 40 litres/minute. These highly compact units feature an integrated seven-segment display that shows the current readings.
SDI sensors can be used to monitor maximum and minimum flow values. For this purpose, a switching output can be programmed as an NC or NO contact. The EGE SDI flow meters can be programmed via three integrated pushbuttons on the front side. These sensors are particularly suited for use in tempering circuits, cooling systems, water treatment plants and sprinkler systems.
EGE also offers thermodynamic flow controllers without movable parts, which means they are robust and resistant to soiling. Controllers for fluids such as water, glycol mixtures or chemicals are as much part of the product range as sensors for gases such as air and carbon dioxide.
Intrinsically-safe sensors are also available for explosive and hazardous areas. Additional variations include high-temperature sensors up to 160°C, special sensors made from such materials as Hastelloy, Monel, titanium and tantalum with high resistance to chemicals, and programmable flow sensors with digital displays. These flow controllers are either screwed into the side of the pipe or added to the line itself in the form of in-line sensors.
