Enclosure and system climate control company, Rittal, has introduced a new modular concept for climate control doors. This makes it easy to combine different dimensions, cooling outputs and voltage levels depending on the demands of the particular application - and to do so with just two item numbers.
The climate control requirements of industrial enclosures are as varied as their fittings. To respond to customers' wishes for fast delivery and equipment tailored to specific applications, Rittal has developed a modular system for climate control doors supplied straight from the warehouse. There are 48 possible combinations for profile doors: eight different sets of dimensions and six different climate control modules with different output levels and operating voltages. The climate control modules can be fitted into the prefabricated doors without any sawing or drilling.
These climate control modules offer the same benefits as Rittal TopTherm Plus. That means a RiNano coating to prevent the rapid build-up of dirt on the heat exchanger fins and an integrated condensate evaporation system. These climate control modules thus offer greater energy efficiency and lower maintenance. There is no need to install condensate ducts and no risk of slipping caused by the formation of condensate puddles.
The profile doors for holding the climate control modules are available for enclosures 600 mm, 800 mm or 1200 mm wide and 1800 mm or 2000 mm high. They are fitted in place of standard doors. The climate control modules are available with cooling outputs of 1500 watts and 2500 watts and operating voltages of 115 V, 230 V and 400/460 V.
Users can use the integrated comfort controller to control and monitor the climate control in up to 10 rowed enclosures. Each controller is equipped for master/slave operation. The integrated display shows the enclosure's interior temperature and desired temperature, and also system messages such as 'Door open'. This message will cause all slave systems to be shut down to avoid the formation of condensate. Switching hysteresis can also be centrally adjusted. The use of identical intelligent control systems allows the system to communicate with all other Rittal TopTherm comfort controllers while in master/slave mode.
The advantages for the operator include good flexibility, fast availability, easy assembly, reduced maintenance requirements and energy-efficient operation, resulting in savings in both time and money.
