Industrial PC manufacturer Aaeon has introduced the model AOP-8070 fanless operator interface panel (OIP) to meet the demand for a small size, multifunction panel PC for use in harsh environments. The device features a 7" TFT LCD display and uses Marvell PXA 270 for the first TTL LCD and CRT output. The second TTL LCD output is an optional function that can be driven by an Intel 2700G chipset. The readability of this display is better than traditional 6" or 5,4" STN or TFT LCD units. More graphic or text content can be displayed and the brightness is higher than traditional human machine interface (HMI) panels.

The AOP-8070 operator panel uses a Marvell Xscale processor that is specially designed for use in HMIs. This processor is faster than traditional ARM7 or 32-bit CPUs. The OIP is equipped with an onboard Ethernet controller and multiple COM port interfaces for communications. It also has a built-in CompactFlash socket. The panel can be wall, panel- or DIN rail-mounted. Ingress protection to IP65 is achieved through a plastic front panel and aluminium rear cover.
