The Torrix magnetostrictive level sensor from German manufacturer FAFNIR is now available with HART 6-protocol. This enables the simultaneous measurements of filling level and separation layer. The sensor is suitable for liquid media which require accurate filling level and separation layer measurements.
The simultaneous evaluation of two float positions is carried out via a digital signal modulated on the two-wire 4-20 mA loop. The tube can be configured without demounting. The HART version of the sensor can communicate with any process management system which supports the HART 6 protocol and is equipped with a universal device descriptor.
The sensor operates in the temperature range -200°C to 250°C. Its robust but compact design and micro-controlled sensor electronics ensure high shock and vibration resistance. The sensor, which has very short measuring intervals and a measuring range covering the total tube length has ATEX and IECEx approval for Ex-zone 0.
