Instrotech has released a new temperature calibrator, the Calog TEMP,that combines the functionality of three previously individual calibrators into one compact package.
Calog TEMP temperature calibrator/logger
The new device supports calibration of milliamp, millivolt, thermocouple, ohmic and resistance temperature device (RTD) measuring elements in the same package. The temperature ranges are isolated from the current signal and can be displayed simultaneously. Injecting thermocouple millivolts or RTD signal into a transmitter whilst measuring the current output simplifies field or workshop calibration.
All commonly used thermocouples and RTDs are included in the easy-to-use menu. The thermocouple ranges have automatic internal cold junction compensation or manual settings for external temperature compensation. Resistance and RTD measurement are selectable for 2-, 3- or 4-wire connection. The milliamp measurement can be passive or active with a 24 V power supply in the measurement line for 2-wire transmitters.
The back-lit liquid crystal display can be selected for measurement in clear, precise numerical display or as a graph for use when logging temperature or milliamps over longer periods. This makes the calibrator ideal for monitoring ovens or optimising PID control loops.
The ARM processor has built-in USB port and a realtime clock. Full use of this feature is used for datalogging and calibration recording in conjunction with a notebook or PC. The calibrator also has an SD card port for data storage and recording.
The Calog TEMP comes standard with a carrying case, mains charger, rubber protective boot and leads. Internal power supply is now using the more powerful lithium-ion battery pack.
