Transmitter measures moisture in oil

Accurately measuring the moisture content in oil is important to ensure the safe operation of machinery and transformers. If the amount of moisture in lubricating or insulating oils is too high, then the risk of damage to machinery and transformers is also high. The quality of lubrication in lubricating oils and the dielectric strength in transformer oils decreases dramatically as the moisture content of the oil increases.

With the EE36 from E+E Elektronik, the oil's moisture is measured constantly and so maintenance can be done on demand and in time, potentially eliminating long periods of downtime and extensive, costly repairs.

As well as measurement of water activity (0-1 aw) and oil temperature (-40°C to 180°C), the EE36 can also calculate the absolute water content (ppm) this is very important for mineral transformer oils. The calculation of water content in non-mineral transformer and lubrication oils can be accomplished by downloading specific parameters of the oil.

The proven capacitive E+E sensor element ensures long-term stability and high accuracy (±0,01 aw) and resistance against chemical pollutants.

The accompanying configuration software permits simple calibration of the EE36. The measured values are provided by two freely scaled and configurable analogue outputs and an optional alarm output.
