Genflex enters break hose and fittings market

Genflex Hydraulics is now supplying break hose and fittings of a fine quality and at a competitive pricing structure to local industry.
The hose, originating from one of the largest suppliers of hose to the automotive industry in China, undergoes rigorous testing in the Chinese company's inspection and testing laboratories. This is to ensure standard and quality before distribution in South Africa through Genflex.
David Michelle, Genflex director, said: "Through my recent visit to China, I have been able to source a reliable supplier of break hose. The new supply agreement that Genflex has entered into ensures that the product is available off-the-shelf and upon request.
"After visiting the Chinese principal's plant and witnessing the enormous amount of financial investment they have put into their inspection laboratories, I am confident that the product is of an extremely high standard. There are a number of brake hose products available in South Africa, mainly imported, but most are costly for what the item actually is. We have negotiated with our Chinese principal a pricing structure that will result in the customer paying the same price for every item that we sell. On many brake fittings I believe that more than 50% cost savings can be achieved. For this reason we believe there is an excellent market in South Africa for these competitively priced products. Our company is committed to passing the savings onto the customer."
The company holds a minimum of 4000 m of brake hose and nearly 3/4 million brake hose fittings. It has, under this new agreement, undertaken to send four hoses per month to China for testing at the principal's plant to conduct quality testing.
Genflex believes the brake hose and fittings market is worth approximately R2 to 3 million per month.
