Turck presents the highly complex uprox+ sensor with 5 mm switching distance for mounting and handling applications. Turck has extended its range of uprox+ sensors especially for uses in mounting and handling applications. The sensor specialist presented the inductive Factor 1 sensor in the standardised miniature Q12 (40 x 26 x 2 mm) housing at the Motek. With a switching distance of 5 mm, the new flush rectangular housing Q12 offers one of the highest switching distances currently available on the market. The Q12 is optionally available with a miniature M8x1 connector, with an M12x1 connector or with a direct PUR cable connection option.
In addition to the very compact housing design, the new uprox+ family member has a further feature which is starting to play an increasingly important role in mounting and handling applications. As the sensors are frequently positioned close to one another or directly beside each other, Turck offers the Q12 devices with staggered oscillator frequencies on request. Thus, unwanted mutual interference of the sensors is avoided reliably. The devices operate in a temperature range of -25°C to +70°C.
The benefits of the inductive uprox+ sensors can be used to great advantage in the field of mounting and handling. All uprox+ sensors do not have a reduction factor and thus feature the same switching distance for materials such as iron, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium. The sensors also are simple and uncomplicated to mount and require very small metal-free zones. Thus, the flush sensors can be recessed to protect them from mechanical damage and non-flush sensors can also be partly recessed for mounting. During commissioning, the safe operating states with partly embedded and recessed installation offer the greatest possible flexibility.
