Adroit Technologies, a Proudly South African leader in the field of supervisory control and data acquisition software, is offering two courses in January 2007 to jump start your skills training for the New Year.

If you have heard all about Adroit's revolutionary enterprise level information portal, VIZNET, and want to stay ahead of the pack, then sign up for the course that will teach you everything you need to know about this cutting edge technology, which is optimising the efficiency of process systems worldwide.

The primary purpose of the VIZNET framework is to provide a secure, web-enabled, data visualisation tool that can collaborate with data from a number of sources.

The four-day training program runs from 23 to 26 January 2007, and covers a general overview of VIZNET and its architecture, installation and setup, deployment considerations, network topology types for connections, deployment of the operator, customisation of the server settings using the configuration editor, launching the server, customising the designer settings and tutorial on its special functions, instruction on databases and data elements, design graphic forms, apply security, operator workspace, tool windows, and additional features of the software.

The prerequisite to attend the course is an understanding of Windows 2000 or XP.

Configuring Classic User Interfaces (UIs) is a basic course aimed at new users, configurators, technicians and engineers who already have a good understanding of Windows 2000 or XP and want to learn the basics of how to configure their Adroit SCADA systems to its maximum advantage.

This five-day course runs from the 15-19 January 2007 and covers: Windows 2000/XP basics scanning and connecting to programmable logic controllers (PLCs); installation and shortcut icons; alarming; Adroit program group trending and the basic concepts of bulk configuration; object orientation bulk scanning; agents, slots and status data-logging; client-server events; animation plant VCR; online configuration at scanning; drawing and picture elements support and technology agreement; wizards path redundancy; and animation and browser HASP and licensing.

Both courses run from 08:00-16:00 each day and are conducted in English at Adroit Technologies' head office in Fourways. Each programme includes lunch and refreshments. Fees for the Configuration Course are R6042,00 (including VAT); and for VIZNET R5814,00 (including VAT). Book early, as courses are limited to 10 delegates.
