CBI-electric: low voltage and Beijer Electronics of Sweden have announced the signing of an exclusive partnership agreement under which CBI-electric: low voltage will sell and distribute Beijer's full range of human machine interface (HMI) products into sub-Saharan Africa. The agreement comes into effect from 1 January 2007.
CBI-electric's association with Beijer Electronics began in 2001 with E-series HMI terminals developed for communication with Mitsubishi PLCs. This progressed with the introduction of the new generation, 'future proof' E 1000 series operator terminals in 2005.
Co-operation was expanded this year and CBI now carries Beijer Electronics' complete range of HMI products.
The new product portfolio, which includes HMI terminals, additional software and accessories, was launched to customers at major centres throughout South Africa during November, with application examples showcasing Beijer Electronics HMI in such industries as food and beverage, mobile power supply, medical sterilising equipment, and hydraulic pressing.
Asked to comment on the agreement Bob Jacobi of Beijer Electronics said: "We are very pleased that our two companies have expanded our co-operation and that CBI-electric now carries our entire HMI range. CBI-electric is an important partner for Beijer Electronics and our closer relationship opens new opportunities for CBI-electric."
