Advanced temperature measurement instruments for the food services industry

August 2006 Temperature Measurement

Comtest, distributor of Fluke industrial and electrical test tools in southern Africa, has launched the Fluke FoodPro Series of temperature measurement instruments. This range of products is effective in preventing improper receiving, storage and holding temperatures in the food services industry because these thermometers are highly accurate and work on non-contact principles.

FoodPro quickly reads surface temperatures, allowing workers to make rapid and frequent temperature measurements faster than contact units and without fear of cross contamination. An easily-visible illumination light shows the temperature measurement spot and removes any guesswork. These products address the food service professional's need for complete, accurate and fast temperature monitoring from point of receiving through holding and serving. Monitoring temperature is essential to keeping food safe and the regular monitoring of temperatures and adherence to food safety guidelines makes for better business.

Other features of the Fluke FoodPro include:

* An adjustable timer with alarm settings.

* HACCP indication lights which warn of potentially unsafe temperatures.

* Spot illumination targets IR measurements highlighted by LED.

* Sealed to IP54 standards for long-life expectancy, accuracy and being fully washable.

The Fluke FoodPro Plus is a combination infrared surface temperature scanner and probe thermometer with an integrated countdown timer to monitor line checks and cooking and cooling intervals. Infrared readings feature a target illumination light to locate and highlight the measurement spot. The dual-reading display shows the highest scanned temperature alongside the current reading. The quick-response, field replaceable RTD (resistant thermal device) platinum tipped probe does not need recalibration.
