Prime Instrumentation was founded in 1984 in Klerksdorp and has been in process automation for the past 21 years. It is the company's vision to be the primary driving force of commercially sustainable solutions in industrial instrumentation and innovation to the benefit of all its customers.

The different divisions within Prime Instrumentation are Prime Construction, Prime PLC & Software and Prime Hydro-Mechanical Division. These divisions specialise in specific products to provide customers with professional service. The company is one of the leaders in turnkey projects from design, process instrumentation, installation, construction, panel building, networks and automation.

Prime Instrumentation, as a black empowered company, is dedicated to satisfy the needs of its clients by supplying high quality products, systems and specialised services on time, by means of the wealth of knowledge, experience and technology available to it through both its local staff and major principals. It is one of the company's policies to satisfy most of its customers' requirements through a long term relationship and ethical business conduct. The company aims to provide a tailor made service to its clients' specific environment and needs.

The sales department is supported by the construction and maintenance division. 24-hour support and standby is also provided by the company.

A few of the company's well-known customers are Afrox, Air Products, Anglogold, Alpha Cement, BMW, Clover, Denel, De Beers Mining, Eskom, Harmony Gold Mine, ISCOR, Lafarge, Nissan, Nola, Rand Water Board, Sasko and SAB.
