AGE Technologies Johannesburg, has been awarded an order of approximately R8 million from Mittal Steel in Vanderbijlpark. The project incorporates a complete upgrade on the coal handling side of the plant and a new installation in the coal blending area. Both areas will be equipped with the latest PLC and scada technology in addition to a number of custom made motor control centres. Various communications media will be utilised, including wireless radio telemetry in order to overcome the harsh industrial environment. The implementation of the new system will be an example of the company's capabilities in control engineering.
