DC-DC transformers for stable 24 V direct voltage

April 2006 Electrical Power & Protection

Phoenix Contact has two new products in its Mini Power power supply range - DC-DC transformers at 24 V/1 A. These transform direct voltages ranging from 36 to 74 V (10 to 32 V) to a stable, configurable output voltage of 24 V.

If a regulated, stable 24 V direct voltage is not available for supplying the load, the DC-DC transformers make sure that the 24 V device receives a stable voltage. The unregulated DC voltage is transformed into a regulated output voltage, which can be set anywhere between 22,5 and 28,5 V. As they are electrically isolated, the two direct voltage circuits are safely separated. A zero-voltage DC-OK output and LED are available for signalling.

All power supplies have a V/I characteristic curve and work with a Power Boost power reserve, which reliably starts loads even with high start-up currents. The circuit breakers are always triggered by high levels of short-circuit current. Preventive function monitoring and a power failure bridging time of more than 20 ms at full load offer a high degree of operational reliability.

All devices are electronically protected against overloads and short circuits, have a large temperature range (-25 to +70°C), and are supplied with an international certification package.
