The EL Series of infrared thermometers from PREI Instrumentation provide a 4 to 20 mA 2-wire loop-powered signal for any span of 100°C or more within the range of 0 to 500°C. The accuracy is 1% of reading or 1°C, whichever is the greater, and the response time is 200 ms. Three different optical lenses are available to provide 2:1, 10:1 or 30:1 distance to target spot diameter ratio.
These small stainless steel sensors are 18 mm in diameter, 85 mm long, rated IP65, and are suitable for ambient temperatures up to 50°C. Various accessories like mounting brackets, air purge collars and longer cables, are available.
Non-contact thermometers are suitable for food applications where cleanliness and hygiene are paramount, while their 4-20 mA output signal, which can be connected to any controller, indicator, recorder or PLC, makes them very useful in many other applications.
