C&F Technologies is offering a range of instruments for monitoring the levels of residual chlorine and fluoride in water.
The field-proven 1870E Residual Cl2 Analyser provides reliable, continuous on-line operation with multiple ranges that are selectable up to 20 mg/l. It features high and low alarm points, an automatic cleaning system, direct measurement of free or total chlorine with high/low band control for chemical feed systems. The measurement remains accurate when taking low level readings.
The 1870E Residual Cl2 Analyser requires no reagents for cost effective monitoring of direct measurement of residual free chlorine. Outputs are 4 to 20 mA. The instrument is housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure, offers an output that is accurate within 5% and monitoring ranges that are field selectable up to 20 mg/l.
The Aztec CL500 Residual Cl2 Analyser is microprocessor-based, with a dot matrix graphical display (with on-screen instructions) and is auto ranging to 20 mg/l. The device offers datalogging and trending, has an optimised reagent feed. It has six programmable alarm relays, is capable of direct measurement of free or total chlorine and features universal power recognition.
The Aztec CL1000 Residual Cl2 Analyser also has a graphical display, is sensitive to 1 ppb, and auto ranging to 60 mg/l. It offers datalogging and trending, automatic pH adjustment and has on-screen instruction and self-diagnostics. There are six programmable alarm relays and it can make direct measurement of free or total chlorine. This analyser sample is gravity fed, eliminating any need for a sample pump.
The microprocessor-based Aztec F1000 fluoride monitor has an ion selective fluoride sensing electrode, features automatic high and low calibration and is suitable for continuous on-line fluoride monitoring. It has a dot-matrix graphical display, automatic ranging to 100 mg/l and features datalogging and trending. There are separate electronics and liquid processing compartments to minimise corrosion and ensure a long useful life. The on-screen instruction and self diagnostics feature is handy. There are six programmable alarm relays, the sample temperature is regulated and the unit offers automatic ranging capabilities from 0-100 mg/l. Display resolution can be as fine as 1 mg/l with optional graphical viewing mode, with accuracy within 2%. A 4 to 20 mA output signal is standard.

At its peak in 1994, the energy generation capacity of the UK’s nuclear power stations was 12,7 GW across 16 plants. In 2024, the capacity has fallen to around 5 GW, and the number of stations is down to nine. However, this is far from the end of the story as spent nuclear fuel remains radioactive for centuries, and requires rigorous safety processes to safeguard against leaks.
