New PLC range launched

LS (Formerly LG) Industrial Systems has released a significant new brick-type PLC, the GM7 'U' series. The new equipment follows on the excellent platform of the older GM7 'A' series.
The new PLC features a 32 bit processor, 32-bit, 100 kHz counters with a completely flexible selection of counter type, 132 Kb program memory, built in 2-axes positioning controller, three built-in communications ports, completely unlimited open-protocol for communication with other devices, auto tuning forward/reverse PID control, PWM output for heater control and external interrupts.
The PLC can be expanded to a maximum of (a) 120 digital I/O or (b) 60 I/O with 12 analog channels. All of the usual communication protocols are also catered for, namely, profibus DP, devicenet, modbus, F-Net, C-Net, no protocol and user-defined protocol. The previous GM7A continues as a lower cost range, still offering all of the features that made it such a success.
