Clyde Technologies appointed ACG Identification's local representative

February 2005 News

ACG Identification, a leading component and technology supplier in the smartcard and RFID markets, has appointed Clyde Technologies of Cape Town as its local representative in South Africa.

"Recognising the important opportunities arising within South Africa's developing economy and growing market, ACG has strategically positioned itself with Clyde Technologies to serve the region and offer local clients direct access to its most comprehensive product portfolio," comments Ulrich Reutner, vice president of sales for ACG Identification.

"Through our agreement with ACG, we bring in a neutral source of vendor-independent advice and make ACG's extensive knowledge of smartcard and RFID components and systems accessible to the local players," states Walter Müller, founder of Clyde Technologies. "Our aim is to respond to the increasing interest in contactless technology and smartcard applications expressed by the South African industries who have already experienced successful implementation of advanced auto ID technology."

Following the new agreement signed, Clyde Technologies is now the exclusive representative of ACG and is responsible for extending the range of ACG's global infrastructure to South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland.
