The new Dualis 2D sensor from IFM Electronic is designed to read data matrix codes in accordance with ECC200. Even where data matrix codes are soiled or partially damaged, Dualis provides reliable reading, eliminating identification problems commonly found with conventional bar code systems.
With dimensions of only 42 x 42 x 43 mm, the photoelectric sensor is ideal where mounting space is limited. The easy menu guidance allows configuration of the 2D sensor in only a few steps. Simple queries about the process, such as 'Where is the code?' or 'How fast is the process?' are sufficient for the optimum configuration of the system.
Dualis features infrared or red integrated lighting and it is able to read up to 10 codes per second. The codes can be applied on the surface of the product using inkjet or laser printers, or directly onto labels. The motion speed of the sensor is 3 m/s with integrated lighting and 5 m/s with external lighting. Easy to use, the sensor provides a cost effective alternative where other identification systems fail. A Dualis contour sensor is also available for reliable verification of contours and positions.
