The Rhomberg PT-Line range of pressure transmitters are designed to monitor product, process and hydraulic pressures as well as triggering safety shutdowns when hazardous conditions are detected.
The PT-1 series are precision 2-wire pressure transmitters with an output of 4 to 20 mA, supply range of 8 to 36 V d.c. Featuring accuracy to within 0,5% FS, they are compensated for the temperature range 0 to 85°C and offer ingress protection that is rated to IP65.
Applications suitable for these pressure transmitters include:
* In the mining industry, where pit props are hydraulically operated, the pressure is constantly monitored to indicate the condition of the prop and the ground strata. The hydraulic pressure on cutting machinery is also monitored, using hydraulic systems.
* On oilrigs, ballast tank levels and hydraulic pressure on jack-up drilling rigs are monitored. Pressures on platform flow lines, additive metering pumps, sub-sea injection valves and well cleanouts are also carefully observed.
* Other uses are in heavy industry, where modern industrial gas turbines use pressure transmitters for control and automatic start-up.
* Pressure transmitters also measure steam pressures and distribution pressures within electrical generating stations. Oil and nitrogen gas cooled systems are used on high voltage three phase cables where local and telemetry monitoring of the coolant pressures is often required.
* In refrigeration the pressure transmitters monitor compressor pressure of both the low and high-pressure sides.
